Meet Ziri, a handmade camel crafted by the nomadic women of the Sahara Desert in Morocco. As shared in our video, these incredible women create each camel from materials they gather while traveling across the vast desert, bits of wool, fabric, fibers, and small treasures blown across the dunes. Every camel is entirely unique, infused with the personality, creativity, and resourcefulness of the woman who made it.
Named after the Amazigh word for “moonlight,” Ziri has a gentle, luminous presence. He features a deep brown wool base wrapped in desert striped yarn, bright embroidered starbursts, and a beautifully woven teal saddle that runs down his back. Pops of neon yellow, pink, and red add joyful contrast, while his wrapped legs and soft ears give him a tender charm. These camels are more than décor, they are symbols of resilience, artistry, and the beauty of reimagining found materials into something joyful and full of life.
