Handmade Sahara Desert Camel – “Massin”

Meet Massin, a handmade camel crafted by the nomadic women of the Sahara Desert in Morocco. As shared in our video, these incredible women create each camel from materials they gather while traveling across the vast desert, bits of wool, fabric, fibers, and small treasures blown across the dunes. Every camel is entirely unique, infused with the personality, creativity, and resourcefulness of the woman who made it.

Massin carries the Amazigh name meaning “handsome, strong, and royal,” and he lives up to it with his bold presence. He features a deep natural wool body accented with bright neon stitching, striped wrapped legs, and a vivid tassel lead in red and yellow. His green side tassel and desert tuft add lively color and character. These camels are more than décor, they are symbols of resilience, artistry, and the beauty of reimagining found materials into something joyful and full of life.
